During the year as prospects are promoted to the mlb club will we be allowed to replace them on the milb roster with another prospect?

No only way to restock prospects is through the draft or trade.

As a reminder from the rules. When a prospect gets promoted to the major league in real baseball, this doesn’t mean you have to add him right away. Once you promote, (give a contract) to one of your prospects you are stuck with him. He never gets put back on your protected list on your google sheets. You either keep him, trade him, waiver him or buyout his contract.
Wait and see if a called up prospect gets playing time, or can hit or pitch well before promoting him up. A good example of what I mean is with Gavin Lux LAD. He was a #1 or #2 rated player a couple years ago. but still hasn’t learned to hit at the major league level. Calling him up right away would have been a disaster.
