Let’s say you dropped a prospect. If that player has pitched in the majors, could you bid on that player?

My assumption: You (the dropper) could not. As it is a "buyout" - the rest of the league could.

If you dropped your prospect who now has MLB stats but wasn’t called up, yes, you could drop him at no charge. After dropping him, he would be available as a free agent since he has MLB stats. The team dropping him would not be able to bid on him in the same season. All other teams could bid on him.
Most likely this would never happen but that player could be drafted again in next years draft. He would still be under IP or AB and never played in our league. He would maintain his Prospect status for our draft.
