Let’s talk about complaints with “perceived” unbalanced trades.
Here in my league we have three members on the trade committee. I first receive complaints from managers if they feel a trade is unbalanced. I then go forward with the committee or I move entirely on my own based on circumstances. That’s how we do it.
We had a recent trade offer in our other league. Prospect Pete Crow Armstrong for Kyle Tucker $9/2. Rodger the Commish killed that trade. The Pirates manager was just removed from the league for lack of knowledge. It’s obvious trading Tucker for that prospect lacked knowledge.
I have a problem with a manager who thinks trading Tucker for Armstrong is a fair deal. I have a “bigger” problem with a manager who accepts that offer. He knowingly takes advantage of a weak manager. That’s not playing fair, it’s greed, it’s wrong. Since this trade offer example is public knowledge I will use it as my example going forward.
It’s time that managers NOT prey on weak managers and legally steal from them. No, it’s not that you won the trade, it’s that your greed stole from the weak.
Effective immediately I’m putting the responsibility on every manager to “play fair”. I’m thinking of giving a manager a warning for attempting to “steal” players whether through hook or crook or an overly unbalanced trade offer made in their favor. I don’t care if the weak unknowledgeable manager made the unbalanced trade offer. Do the right thing and balance that offer. The second offense is removal from the league, perhaps. What’s your opinion?
Uneven trades take a toll on everyone. It creates apathy in some cases. It adds to the incredible amount of my time I’m already doing in running 100% of everything. Also in the end whether the trade was allowed, cancelled, reworked there are those managers who are still pissed. Well, guess what, as Commish I’m pissed having to deal with it. How about that for another perspective.
In conclusion, if this applies to you please end the trading bullshit you might think of doing in the future. Thanks
