Fellows,
Seems to be a little grumbling about my trade for bullpen help. When I took over the team I felt I had to replace a horrible infield and bullpen. The infield I thought would be good backups but the bullpen was putrid. (Perhaps lack of doing anything by the previous owner.) I quickly got what I could to replace my infield and then had to tackle my bullpen. The bullpen ranked 16th in wins, 18th in saves and 16th in holds. No one is going to trade away elite closers or high leverage pieces from their pen. The players that I inherited were not going to help me in any trades for players so my strategy was to use my prospects to bring help to my pen. The Padres contacted me and said they had bullpen pieces and we worked out a deal hopefully to help my team improve. I am a veteran of many, many fantasy baseball leagues and have done quite well. Trades are a crap shoot. You do what you can, at the time, but nothing's guaranteed. The prospects were all that I had that could get me pieces to help out my team. I suggest you guys run your team and I'll run mine. Also some of the teams (twins 18th pl. and Milw. 17th pl) that are complaining also wanted R. Green and other prospects from me but they did not have what I wanted. I would assume that most teams want to do good and so do I. I felt that I could not do good with the hand that I was dealt. I also want to thank George for his support. He knows what goes into running a team. Thank you for letting me play in your league.
