I ran into a problem with our rules concerning the number of Prospects each team can have. Our rules state a maximum of 20.
Here is the back story........
There are 3 identical leagues.
The original league “Elite Baseball” the Prospect limit is 20
The 2nd league “Salary Cap Baseball” the limit is 25
The new league “The Grind” limit is 20
My intention with Salary Cap baseball was to have identical rules as Elite. The one exception was the number of Prospects owned. I set a new limit of 25
Fast forward to The Grind, this league. My intention was to have the same exact rules as Salary Cap Baseball. Also setting a limit of 25
When I copied and pasted the Official Rules from the Elite League, I failed to make that correction. I just noticed the discrepancy right now.
I didn’t want to edit and change the Official Rules from 20 to 25 and hope no one notices. I want to be transparent and put it out there with the truth. I intend to make that change to 25, but wanted to discuss it first.
How the problem came to light, I noticed in my recent trading with the Brewers that he had a lot of Prospects. We were discussing various trades and I also noticed he had about 8 or so draft picks next year. That would well push him over the 25 prospect limit. I was about to alert, warn, remind the Brewers of the rule. I double checked and found the rule stated only 20. That’s when I realized I made the mistake. Both league need the exact same rules. Around 7 managers are in both our leagues.
So there is the story. I wanted to take the time and explain it all. Thanks for reading.
