I know that the Yankees manager was not abandoning there team and was setting their lineups and routinely logged into proboards. He looked to be building a very nice roster of minor leaguers for future contention. I feel like this sets a precedent that any manager that runs their team in a a manner that someone doesn't agree with can be unilaterally removed. I feel each owner as long as they are logging in setting lineups and have a [plan for their team they should be left to their own devices.

The following message was sent to the Yankees back in June. I stand by this warning. I don’t replace managers lightly. It hard work to fill teams, then train new managers. The Cubs manager had no cap so was limited in activity. He won’t set daily lineups allowing players to languish after coming off IL and not moving players to IL. He was doing nothing. Easy call to replace him. I won’t let managers just hang around in this league. They are either active or they are gone.
To the Yankees in early June. Keep in mind discussions with him were ongoing prior to this message. <<<The current status of your team: You are 11 players short of an active roster, of which four are active pitchers You aren’t even close to fielding a pitching staff. You haven’t nominated a free agent since April. You currently have 31.5 cap.
Managers are free to run their teams how they see fit. However, you aren’t running your team. You are not making attempts to improve your team. You are tanking. When I see this happening, as Commish I must step in. My responsibility is to the league.
Start filling some pitching roster spots at least. You have plenty of cap. There isn’t anything to discuss further. Hope to see improvement.>>>

Update after message sent……Never spent another $ on a free agent or even temporary players to cover for IL.

I’m going to add one more thing in my defense. Without exaggeration Ive gone through well over 50 managers since forming this league. The same can be said of Moneyballers the first two years. In both leagues I went through around 8 managers just during the offline draft alone. I don’t accept below average participation. There is a reason both leagues have excessive amounts of trading and free agent bidding and that is we have well above average managers as a whole. It’s not by accident. It is planned, not luck. The day I allow weak managers to hang on is the day the league starts to die. One by one good managers will lose interest, the activity will start to die, and good managers will quit. My standards are high. No one gets removed that hasn’t been talked to first, reasoned with, and explained what’s expected.
