Today I removed the Twins manager. It was 100% my decision. Kyle and Rodger (this leagues Admin) and I have been discussing Paul’s trades almost since the beginning of the league. In a little over a year he has managed to
1) trade almost all his best players
2) trade all his original prospects
3) trade all his draft picks for round 4 picks this year and no first or second round picks next year.
4) have no cap left this year
In other words the Twins right now is a bad team with no viable assets for the future. He tries to please the person he trades with and it’s got to stop before the Twins sink even lower trading more quality players for cap so he can make more bad trades.
Rodger Kyle and I all agree this type of advanced league is far over his head in knowledge ability and baseball, knowledge. I think I can speak for them in this regard.
Moving forward with the Twins Franchise
1) I am probably not recruiting a manager until next year.
2) The team has no cap left, and no draft picks for next year. Why bother?
3) I intend to take over the team and make daily roster changes, add no players, or make any trades.
4) Prior to August 31 deadline for buyouts at 50% I intend to trim a few players from the roster to make the team more attractive (cap wise) for the new manager.
5) My intention is to have Twins team reasonably attractive for a new owner with cap room. (Hands off means the Twins are going to be a mess in my opinion) which makes it hard to recruit. I feel a duty to not let any team go too low without intervention.
My question. Is my plan ok with you guys? Or should I leave it alone this year and try to recruit a manager for a team none of us would want?
Speak freely.
